Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson

A conceptual project for the Advanced Costume Design course at Baylor University

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is a 2006 punk musical focusing on the life and career of our 7th president. A major theme throughout the musical is the effect of disenfranchised Americans that were gathered together under populism in the early 19th century. I wanted to draw parallels between the early frontiersmen and various subcultures as targets of exclusion. As BBAJ is primarily a punk musical, I drew inspiration from rock-adjacent trends as well as specific musicians that I felt exemplified their genre.
